I applied for a job on careerbuilder a week before Christmas.Do companies wait until the 1st of the Yr to hire?

I applied for a great job oppurtunity with all of the correct requirements a week before Christmas. It had been posted on Career Builder since Nov. 20, and just recently expired last week. My dad said most companies wait until the first of the year to do their hiring process when looking for a new hire that close to the end of the year.

1. Depends. December is usually a good month if they need to hire people before budgets expire. Other times they need to wait for the new budget. Anyway, don't get too excited. You just APPLIED. You haven't started the Interview process yet!
