Are unemployed Americans rushing to snag up the jobs illegals left behind?

Now with more and more Americans out of work in 2009, are they rushing to snag up the jobs illegals left behind? If they are, do you have any current links that report this? If not, why?

  1. We ought to, because those jobs belong to us. I'm tired of illegals coming over the border breaking laws. We should snag every job in the U.S. so that there aren't any for them to get.
  2. There is another reason Americans are out of work. The US lost over 1 million jobs in 2008. In some cases there are no jobs available.
  3. Probably not. I know tons of "unemployed" Americans on government benefits who refuse to get jobs at McDonalds or Jack in the Box, or dishwashing jobs at Red Lobster even though those places are always hiring, because they are holding out for the elusive $55,000 dollar a year job in their specialization. But who is going to wash your dishes? Their argument is that you can't pay your mortgage on $8 an hour, but then again, neither does your $330 a week unemployment check.
  4. Sorry but you'll just have to clean your own toilet bowl and mow your own lawn! Try it! It's not that hard even a low life scum of a criminal can do it!
  5. Yes, many Americans are now working in factory jobs that were previously held by illegal alien trespassers. Also, illegal aliens have been widely employed in the construction trade for decades, and these are high-paying jobs that Americans want. It is unAmerican to want amnesty for these criminal trespassers. Send them back! Letter to The Times (Ga.) – 9/7 Illegal workers stealing jobs from our citizens One can only pray that the recent enforcement action aimed at illegal employment, illegal immigration and the theft of Americans' identity by illegal aliens will soon be repeated many times here in Georgia. Local newspapers in Mississippi have been reporting that legal workers in the recently raided Laurel, Miss., transformer plant were cheering and applauding as ICE agents led the 595 black-market workers away. Media reports from Mississippi tell of long lines of Americans and legal workers lining up to apply for the newly created job openings. Just one quote from a new job applicant in Laurel: "We have wanted these jobs for years, but the company would not hire us." Lashonda Dase, a local shopkeeper was quoted in Mississippi's Clarion-Ledger newspaper on the company officials and the nearly 600 wage thieves being busted: "You're basically keeping 600 people who are legal to work here from working. That could be 600 households, 600 children who've been suffering." While illegal-alien handlers howl about "family separation" if their constituents get caught committing crimes, Dase reflects the sentiment of the huge majority of Americans when she speaks up for our own well-being and that of children of lawful residents in America. Ms. Dase made her observation in English. With each day's headlines bringing more news of job shortages, layoffs and government budget cutbacks, these innocents in Laurel, Miss., apparently haven't read the memo from the open borders lobby on quiet, politically correct surrender when illegal foreign workers steal their jobs and lower their wages. While we should all applaud the arrest of the illegal workers, the real celebration will come when we see the defiant but well-connected campaign donating company officials who illegally hired the illegal workers do the perp-walk into court -- in Georgia. 6. the problem are also ANTI PATRIOTS who hire illegals!
  7. Illegals leaving behind??? All Ive seen is reports that despite the economy, they are staying.. Guess they realized their food stamps and housing vouchers will not work in their home land... Hey...... I thought you would be preparing for you March for Rights tomorrow? Did La Raza allow you to work from a remote location??? How sweet.
  8. U.S. citizens always do what is needed in the end, without the "help" of illegals.
  9. I guess you were not paying attention last time you posted this question.
  10. Docar, the question had nothing to do with cleaning toilets or mowing lawns, GreasyTony asked a legitimate question. I am unsure of if this is a second posting but my take in this category of "immigration" certain posters are subject to being reported or followed by answerer's that post answers that are not only unrelated to the subject being discuss but with answers that are just noise, they say nothing of value. This is not a case of a poster that asks some off the wall question for the fifth, sixth or seventh time. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhP2S7Iw2Zc7MIafbYRIe9Tsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090118202153AAkyH3z&show=7#profile-info-wdxTxXHOaa For answers you got some that are gripes, opinion, one gave figures as they know them and one that used insults but still had no answer in the end. On the other hand Shane presented a point that I felt need to respond to. If you would Shane, GreasyTony asked for links and I also would give your post more thought if you provided a link to this quote from your post. "Media reports from Mississippi tell of long lines of Americans and legal workers lining up to apply for the newly created job openings." I was able to find the articles of the raid from Mississippi but none of the articles mentioned the above subject as you stated. I will refrain from debating my view on the articles I found but for what it is worth to you here are the links. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&q=raided+Laurel,+Miss.,+transformer+plant&start=40&sa=N "Immigration Raids Cripple Small Towns Towns Say Mass Deportations Cause Economic and Humanitarian Crisis" http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/Story?id=5679696&page=1 "Raided factory had union-immigrant tensions" http://www.cleveland.com/nation/index.ssf/2008/08/raided_factory_had_unionimmigr.html "Follow up on the Mississippi ICE raid" http://www.workingimmigrants.com/2008/09/follow_up_on_the_mississippi_i.html Again you are saying media reports of "long lines" yet without links this valid point becomes mute.
