I need advice on moving out of my city.?
I'm about to be a Senior in August. I live in a small town, about three hours way from Austin, Texas. I've always wanted to live there so me and my two/or three friends are going to move there when we graduate. One of my friends already lives there, but she is moving back this weekend with her Dad. I'm planning on moving that summer after graduation. I'm getting my Licenses in Cosmetology as soon as I graduate but I also want to take Interior Design classes in Austin. This break in December we're going up there to look for Apartments. I'm looking for colleges now, but I'm just wanting to know any stories or, any advice about moving out of my town. I'm a little worried and scared on what to do. but I have to leave this city because I don't want to be stuck here forever. What plans do I need to make? How do I find stuff out that would help me in living there? Good colleges? Good apartment finder? Good places to work as a hairstylist while attending college? I know it's going to be tough but I want to live there. Any advice, websites, stories, planning ahead you can give would be great. Thanks so much! (:

- Well, I live in Austin and have lived here for almost a year. And I love this city, there are tons of people and always something to do. I am a dude so I don't know about cosmetology school I have seen Vogue college here, which is a cosmetology school! Depending on where you live compared to school and work make a big difference. If you live/work/go to school within a small area then you don't need a car. But if you work on one side of town and live on another then a car would be nice, there is a great bus system here in austin, but if you are riding it across town it's going to take a long time. there are tons of apartment locators in this town, but you are going to need to know where you want to live first. This city is so big that one cant really cover the entire thing. It would be a good idea to move with a friend or a group of friends, rent can be expensive and living alone is never a good idea or fun! especially if you havent lived on your own before. Austin community college is a good school to attend and if you live in district its really cheap. good luck with moving!
