Craigslist scam or not?

Saw an ad on Craigslist for a 2004 Volvo s60 R asking price $4550. It has 70,000 miles on it. Kelly blue booked it, turns out it is way below the price it should be. The guys says the car is in North Dakota, but the ad I saw is in Austin, TX. I also find the very same ad in Miami, Central Michigan, Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles. Im sure there are more, just havent looked. He says that he can get free shipping to have the car shipped to Austin, so that i can check it out. What i don't understand is why is the car so cheap and why is it listed in so many different cities? Is this a scam or is this guy doing some over-advertising? This is what he sent me: I see that you are still interested. My opinion is to use ebay protection program because i want to take this opportunity to assure you that this deal is 100% legit but you must know that in this way eBay will require you to send a ($4500) prior shipping and they will have to verify me and the car and you as well before we can close this deal through their service. Your money will be kept by eBay agent until you will receive the car and send them the confirmation that you are satisfied with the product received. In case you don't want to keep the car all you will have to do is to ask them for a refund and you will be totally refunded in 2 days. Don't forget that for the shipping i paid all taxes. P.S. You must know that if you decide to buy the car i will need your full name and shipping address as soon as possible in order to send your details to the shipping company and to ebay agent to make the arrangements for shipping. 1. A good rule of thumb: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
2. That car is being used as bait. I'd be willing to bet they'll ask you to send money first, and then you'll never hear from them again. Stick to reputable sources for your car purchase, and purchase locally. It will save you in the long run. Good luck.
3. Scam the guy has an add in Tallahassee. Wants you to send money. Best rule of thumb if it ain't local don't do the deal.
4. Very common scam. Avoid it. Do not communicate any further with the "seller". **EDIT** -- Yep, what they sent you is a very common scam. Don't answer them.
5. Ask this person for the VIN vehicle Id number . then tell him you have an inspector in his area, who will pay more in cash ($1000.00) this usually scare off the scamers. If he's a crook, he will not respond to your offer !
6. Did you not read the link with big letters in the auto section on CL telling you that offers to ship vehicles for free are 100% frauds??? Maybe I'm the only one seeing them...
