What's the Best Deal To Post Jobs on CareerBuilder.com?

I was quoted a price of $800/mo to post 5 jobs a month on CareerBuilder.com. Is this a good deal or are there any employers out there getting a better rate for the same amount of postings? Are there any incentives I can ask for prior to signing a contract, can I get free resume access? Anything else I should ask for?

  1. Why don't you get a competitive bid for that project? Ask Monster.com, Dice.com, Hotjobs.com, etc., for pricing then choose the board that has the most throughput of potential candidates for your company. You could then negotiate from there, but if you're only looking at CareerBuilder, there's not much you can do about negotiating those prices unless you want to retain their services or use their job board technology on your company's website. Many of the state/federal-run job boards, like America's Job Bank offers listing services for free for both employers and job applicants. You could visit an EDD office location near you, or visit their website, to see how you can get your job listings posted. University career centers have free job listing services for employers as well. And then, there's craigslist.org (pick your city from the right nav), where you can post a job listing for $25/job, or thereabouts.
