How can you make sure you don't get scammed on craigslist?

I'm trying to sell a wedding dress on craigslist and all these weird people are writing me. They tell me how their shippers will come and pick it up and how they will pay with cashiers check. I don't trust them. How can I make sure they don't rip me off and just take my dress without paying?
