Do I have to pay extra if I buy a smartphone off Craigslist?

I'm planning to buy a Palm Centro or Blackberry Curve or Vu or Blackberry Pearl off Craigslist and am going to put my SIM card for AT&T inside. Will I need to pay extra to go online or go on AIM? I barely text so I don't need unlimited texting. Also, I use a sharing plan from AT&T.

1. yes, you will need to get an unlimited internet plan for the phone. It will use a lot of internet and you will end up getting a high bill. Unlimited internet on these phones is $30 per month. Don't try to get a lower plan, they will know what type of phone you are using and will block you until you add the correct data plan.
2. YES!! Unlimited internet usage is $30 for all those PDA's you listed except the LG VU which is $15. Keep in mind if you surf the net without these internet features then you'll pay a penny per character (.01 cent per 1 kb) even the characters you don't see. This gets very very costly especially if you're downloading a game or song. Also AIM & instant messaging gets billed via texting NOT via internet. Incoming & outgoing instant messages are counted as a text so make sure you have a good text feature as well. Here are the diff text packages available through AT&T: 200 txts $5/mth 1500 txts $15/mth unlimited individual txts $20/mth unlimited family (up to 5 lines) txts $30/mth. Hope this helped. Wrap.
