where do I start to get help housing the mildly mentally disabled in LA?

I am in California and would like more information on starting my own mildly mentally disabled home. I heard that their are programs that oversee this group of people yet allowing them to live on their own with the assistance from these certain programs. So right now, I just need to know, two things, First, is anyone familiar with housing MMR's and second, the company's that assist them in their independent living.
