I have to have an ovarian cyst, ovary and tube removed on Tues. & need to work on Saturday...Help!!?

I have an ovarian cyst on my right ovary and my doctor want to remove the cyst, ovary and tube. The surgery is set for Tuesday the 11th. The problem is my husband and I are professional disc jockeys and have a wedding reception on Saturday that is about 4 hours away. My family is driving me crazy saying there is no way I can do this. Has anyone out there that has had this done (not know of someone)? How long did it take to recover? My husband is going to do all the setting of the equipment up...All I will be doing is the playing of the music. I know of all the chances of infection. Can you tell me what to expect after I have this done?? Kind of worried!! Thanks to all... I also have put a call in to my Dr. about my situation.

1. I recommend not going to work after having that done, I'm sure it won't feel too good for the next week after surgery. The more you rest, the faster your body will heal.
2. You can expect a little bit of discomfort, including some light cramping. Bed rest will be important for a couple of days after you've had the procedure. The most important thing for you is to rest and to follow your doctor's instructions to the letter. Nothing is more important than your health. Your husband can certainly get somebody to stand in for you for one day. Please take care and I wish you well.
