Where's the best place in Chicago to sell a gently used bicycle?
I have ads on Craigslist and some other websites, but I'm wondering if I can get more money by selling it to a bike shop or something. Any ideas?

- Craigs List, then EBay. Shops aren't in the market for used bikes so if you got one to sell it to you'd get rock bottom prices, after all they have to re-sell for a profit. If you Ebay it but don't want to ship demand local pick up only, but this limits your customer base... so Craig's List would be my choice unless you have a valuable bike then EBay is my choice.
- If you can find a bike shop that sells on consignment, then you're good. Problem is the bikes I had were not in as good a quality as the only bike shop that sold on consignment required so I never could get one of mine in. Plus, if the shop has to put any work on the bike to get it sold that comes out of the price they get for your bike so you might not end up getting what you want or what you expect. Craigslist and ebay are great opportunities. Another option is if you really don't need the money, give it to charity. They can sell it and get some bucks for it.
