need apartment for one month?

I am from Galveston. Because of Hurricane Ike, I need an apartment for one month till october end. Locations are around Galveston - like clear lake, webster, texas city, league city, nassau bay, friendswood or nearby area. I am trying hard but no body is willing to give for one month. I can pay more. Atleast sharing in their house is fine. Even apartment locators said they cannot help. I searched google, different websites etc. Please suggest.

1. I would try to find a motel/hotel with a week to week structured payment plan. Not many housing complexes will allow you to move in for just a month because they'd be losing money with the repairs they'd have to make after you move out. Although, some offer a month-month lease but you may want to look at the contract because in many cases it stipulates a 30-60day notice of intent to vacate.
2. Do you have something like "Extended Stay America"... They will rent for a month... So will Oakwood Also try craigslist.org for sublets.
3. Yes- most places are not going to rent a place for just 1 month - there is too much overhead. You have to look for a weekly or something like that.
