How can I find my dates of employment without getting ripped off?

I have been unemployed for a few years now as a stay at home mother. I can not find my file that I kept my employment history in and can not remember dates at each job, some of which have completely shut down.

1. Social security office.
2. Just make educated guesses. No one expects, nor could check the accuracy of those dates. I guess if you really wanted to find out you could check your tax records like w2's and such
3. Your Tax returns should give you a general indication.
