how can I find work in Los Angeles when I'm 444 miles away?
I look in craigslist for jobs but it would be difficult to drive being a Single Mom. But does anyone know any other ideas or anyone that found a job so far away? I would be going for Admin Assistant work in Burbank area. If all else fails, I will continue trying to save money to make that big move and then look for a job. But it sure would be nice to have some income "guaranteed" before I move. Once I get there and established I will also go for Extra work and Acting. That's the long term goal.

- try snagajob.com I' m not really sure what the policy is for out of state people. Thats how I find jobs, they e-mail you with new openings. Craigslist is no good.
- I got my job in Orange County from Monster.com. Generally, you have to set up several interviews by phone ahead of time. Then come to LA to do say six interviews in 3 days and then go back while they make up their minds. Craigslist is also good for finding jobs to interview for. Just remember that essentially no one will hire you without an in person interview. Also note that of the 15,000,000 people in LA, about 12,000,000 are ready, available and eager for movie extra work. The rest are trying to sell a script or are trying to get a speaking role. The competition is fierce for extra work. And the pay is not particularly good. Also understand that the wages in LA are not a lot higher than elsewhere but you cannot rent a place where you would want to raise a kid for less than about $1200 a month.
