Do websites like Yahoo Hot Jobs, Monster, or Career Builder actually help you find a good job?

I just graduated from college with a B.B.A. in General Business and I'm looking to find a professional job. I know it's gonna be tough with the bad job market right now, but I was told that websites like Yahoo Hot Jobs, Career Builder, and Monster really are not that great to find a professional job. Is this true? I was told that from these kind of websites, you'll get phone calls from companies that'll offer you sales jobs with a high turnover rate or from lame temp agencies that'll find you jobs making $13 or $14 an hour.

  1. *thinks* Well ... they never helped me find a decent job ... but who knows, maybe you'll have luck! There's no shame in giving it a shot. xoxo ♥
  2. When I was discharged from the military back in 1999 I went on Monster and put up my resume. A few weeks later I received a few calls and ended up with a nice job for about a year before I found a better one. Its 50/50 with those websites I guess because my fiancee has been looking and they match her up with all the wrong jobs all the time. Never hurts to try right?
