I m working in UK on a workpermit valid for my present employer only.Hw cn i be eligible to take up other jobs?

I am working in UK on a workpermit that is valid for my present employer only. How can i become eligible to take up other jobs (other than that company applying for WP). Like if i want to work as independent consultant.
