What is the difference between section 8 housing and low income housing?
I applied for section 8 and was approved but I'm still given the run around having to send and resend the proper paper work to see what amount they will qualify me for. I haven't gotten my voucher yet but its been a year and I'm ready to move already.I'm thinking to just say the hell with section 8 and sign up for low income but before I do I wanna know which is better.

- I manage a low income apartment community and the difference between the two is Section 8 or HUD is where they issue housing vouchers to a rental property that accepts it, they you would pay the rest (if any depending on your income). Low income housing is where there are income restrictions based on how many people are in your home, but you still have to pay rent. The rent is a set amount and does not change depending on your income. Section 8 is worth all the hassle.
