do they lose the section 8?

  1. It's possible. An irresponsible renter is seldom welcome anywhere.
  2. It's entirely possible that Sec 8 assistance will be withdrawn. Part of the agreement for receiving Sec 8 assistance is that you WILL pay the portion which you are responsible. If the eviction comes as a result of non-payment of full rents, the entire subsidy may be withdrawn. As well, if the eviction is the result of 'unruly behaviors', the same may apply.
  3. If the eviction is for reasons that are the result of the renter, then more than likely they will lose their Section 8 assistance.
  4. Could be. You get gummint money only if you behave properly. Quit thinking only of yourself for once. Have you ever considered that landlord participation in Section 8 is voluntary? That means, if you are such a lousy tenant that you were evicted, that landlord might decide she is DONE with section 8 riffraff. And that would remove one more unit from the pool. That's one reason why there is a long waiting list to get into Section 8.
  5. If your being evicted while on section 8 you will in all likelihood, loose your section 8. They don't care if it's because you didn't pay your portion or if there was another problem that caused the eviction. Besides paying your portion on time, there are other rules people on section 8 must agree to.
