Career search for unskilled?

I'm a 20 year old, married, high school graduate who is currently attending a small private college (Otterbein) in Columbus, Ohio. I live with my wife in a studio apartment. As times are very financially difficult and my academic success is currently in question, I'm contemplating putting higher education on an indefinite hold. More to the point, I'm looking for a new job. I have no obvious skill sets and I have less than I year of employment with any one employer. I've tried the job/career search engines, but all seem to require education or experience. I need search ideas or even job suggestions. Any ideas?

  1. all you can get for unskilled worker mostly in construction so if your lookin forward for your future then do it dont waste time.
  2. Have you considered working from home? There are thousands of home based businesses that can be started with minimal cash. You can research some of them on the DSA site ( direct selling association). I work at home and enjoy teaching others how they can succeed. If you have the motivation and are willing to learn some new skills ( stuff they don't teach in college), then you can earn considerable income. If you and your wife work the business together, you are more likely to be successful. If you need more information, email me at rotakrape@yahoo.com.
  3. Go to town and fill out job applications. That is how you get experience. Without a resume and things on it, it is hard to find a job online. BTW: craigslist is how I've gotten a few jobs. Look in the food/hospitality section because you do not need experience to work in food service. There are places that will help you with your education. Chick fil a, I have heard, has a great program for aspiring college students.
