Classifieds: Ethnic preferences (!!!??)?

How come in some (many! Just like Craiglist) website , people post housing classifieds with this kind of preferences: "Indian only" , or "Korean only". I can understand all the "female only" , "male only". All the "queer" or "gay only" and the etnic preferences just seems TOO MUCH! Here they are, putting every human being in different categories, just like a lot of americans do! I don't even think it's legal to put this kind of preference do you? It would be exactly the same to me if a japanese food restaurant was prohibided to everyone who's not japanese...! But as you said, they want to be with people who share the same culture, is that your definition of society?

1. People want to find somebody who comes from same culture as their own. Which is very understandable when you are not looking for new experiences, but instead are want somebody who is predictable, who understands you, or who simply speaks the same native language as you. And it is perfectly legal. Discrimination laws apply to employment, business and education. Personal relationships are a whole different story.
