  1. Shay I cant give you a specific apartment complex to look at but I can tell you ones to stay away from. Charlotte's crime problem is worst in its apartment complexes. I just happened to look through the apartment guide it was amazing the way they dressed up some of really bad complexes. With only a few exceptions areas close in an outside the uptown loop should be avoided. Stay away from Central Ave, Idlewild and Albemarle Rds. on the east side of town. On the north end N Tryon, Eastway and Sugar Creek should be avoided. The west side used to be really bad but it has improved somewhat but it still has it's rough spots. The south side of town is really the safest but it also the most expensive so you get what you pay for. The University area is decent but it has its ups and downs. Most of the crime there tends to be property related. I think that there may be a few around there that might work for you. If you can swing it, your better bet might be to find a place outside of town and commute in. Thats what I do. You can check crime stats on the CMPD (Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department ) website. Another tip is to look at the police division the complex is in. The larger the division's area the lower the crime density as a general rule. Good luck and hope this helps.
