What's the best online school that isn't TOO expensive?

I'm a stay-at-home housewife soon to be mom, and I'm losing my mind!! Are there any good online schools (besides University of Phoenix and US Career Institute) that are really worth your money?? so pretty much you're saying that unless i fork out an ass load of money and drive to a campus everyday that i won't get a job???

  1. It really depends what your goals and aspirations are. Most established top companies will not hire from online schools into lucrative positions - there is too much competition from graduates of accredited schools. But there are many smaller companies around that cannot compete with the larger companies for top graduates. And every company out there can use employees who have a deeper understanding of fundamental concepts, and on-line schools meet the niche. So you can probably improve your career, but you will be less marketable than most accredited-school graduates, and the companies that will seek you out will be the less-desirable companies. But at least someone will seek you out.
  2. I'm doing my schooling on-line (Criminal Justice), depends what you want to study of course, but if you want to check it out. The website is iowacentral.edu and see if anything that offers appeal to you. I really like it, you need to study a lot and do homework and everything like you go to an actual classroom. Good luck!!!
  3. http://ilearn.maclenet.com - try this one. It has listing of US online courses, and some useful tips to apply.
  4. Nobody said that you won't get a job w/o a big name degree. But think about it - what major company is going to offer a $200K/yr job to a Phoenix graduate when they can get a Stanford or Berkeley or Harvard grad? Or even half that when they can get a grad from a top 100 school? No one. Plus you seem to totally forget that you could double or more your income for the rest of your life for the cost of the degree. If someone offered you an additional $5M over the course of your career for $85K now, are you saying you wouldn't take it? Of course you won't compete with the big degrees if you can't even do that simple math.
