what if i don't want a career but i still want to go to college?
okay so I am 15 and i always think about college and careers and what i want to do with my life and i hate it when people say i am too young to worry about it, it's MY LIFE, shouldn't i be worrying about my future!? anyway, i don't really think i want a routine job or career, I want adventure and freetime for creativity and the ability to expereince everything. i want to backpack through Europe, clim mountains and camp out oin western north america, live on a Hawiaa beach. I just want to travel and live in all different places. But i do want to go to college, what do you reccomend for a person that just want to travel?

- If you plan on going to Europe and doing all of those things, I recommend getting a good paying job. Money doesn't grow on trees, unfortunately.
- umm who will be paying for all of that traveling???
- you DON'T want a career, but you want to go to college?? Huh??/ that's a waste of whatever cost it is to go to college.
- you may be able to take a gap year and travel for a year before heading off to college. but remember, you have to be realistic. what kind of income will you have? where will you get the money to travel europe and live on a hawaiian beach? there are plenty of creative, non-traditional jobs out there, but you have to actually GET one. it's more than just lazing around by the pool all day.
- College is a good option, even if you don't want to work. You sound like a free spirit but it's always good to be educated. FYI: Where do you expect to get the money to travel, if you don't have a job? I'm assuming you don't want to work 9-5, you're like my husband. He started his own web developing company. He takes out time to work and earn money and at the same time, do fun things on the side. He makes his own schedule, as opposed to working for someone who tells you what time to come in for work, and how many days you get to take off. Good luck!
- just pick a course that sounds interesting to you, if you're not enjoying the course you won't stick with it. some courses have trips as part of them - i guess it would depend on the university. also some unis let you go to study in a different country for a year. i think you just need to do lots of research and see what you think would be exciting. Good luck!
- you can still go to college and not have a good paying job that's what i plan on doing
- 1.) what a waste of going to college and paying for all the tuition and the books and a waste of your lifetime especially if you're not going to get a career. 2.) your mommy or daddy is probably not going to pay for your traveling fee so at least get a decent good paying job that you can work flexible with.
- in this world today you HAVE to have a college degree and a good paying job to get threw in life sweetie because unlike you i don't want to go to college but since i graduate next year the man told me that i had to it wasn't a choice
- You 15, it's ok that you don't know want to do with the rest of your life. I want to adventure too. I want all of those things, it's the romantic ideal, but it's not realistic as you well know. Sadly, we have to earn money somehow and finding work is hard. The good news is if you find a career you enjoy then every day is an adventure. Look into anthropology, it's a great career if you want to travel and meet new people.
