How could being a Scientology help the career of a celebrity?

There is a lot of negative publicity surrounding Scientology. South Park ridiculed OT3 wherein we find out that Xenu has infested us with alien ghosts. There are rumors of mysterious deaths, slave labor, child abuse. My friend thinks it helps peoples careers, I don't see how. I am thinking of not seeing Tom Cruises next movie as are many others. So how is this positive? Should read: How could being a Scientologist.....

1. Many people that have some pull in Hollywood are into Scientology. You get in with the right crowd and you could be getting roles that were never available to you before.
2. I agree - Tom's career is in a nose dive thanks to his Scientology insanity, although I might see a Travolta movie unless he starts pushing Scientology any harder Edit: I disagree with Kfidz. In fact I bet admitting that you are Scientologist could be a liability ( I have a hunch Kfidz probably is one)
3. Publicly, I doubt it's any help at all. Most actors who are Scientologists don't mention it or at least don't make a spectacle of themselves the way Cruise has. Privately, who knows what it may give them.
4. The Celebrities do not see the horrific side of scientology and the "low-level members" who are victimized cannot talk about it and I suspect that most (I say MOST, because I have a feeling Tom Cruise IS aware of it), don't know the extent to what goes on deep inside their cult. That's why there's the beautiful Celebrity Center in California. That's where they go when they do their course work. Unlike the members of the sea org who are sleeping 10 people in one hotel room in the Fort Harrison Hotel in Clear Water, Florida. I doubt Cruise or Travolta would be doing anything like that. And I think they believe scientology helps their careers because they are being put through the same mind control techniques as all the others are. They go through the same courses, such as the TR courses where you sit face to face with someone and you have to keep your eyes open for 2 hours at a time without blinking. That is one crazy a$$ mind control technique. And it's done very slowly so you don't know its happening to you. The kicker is they didn't become famous because they're scientologists. They were already famous BEFORE they became scientologists. They come to believe that they couldn't have gotten as far as they have without scientology but the fact is they were already on their way.
5. The truth about Scientology was not widely known until fairly recently. Scientology is all about money, power, and influence and celebrities are likely unaware of much of the abuses. Lots of dark and dirty secrets. The rich and famous have been specifically targeted by scientology for obvious reasons, and there is a definate "caste system" within, with benefits for the powerful. Recruitment of new members, including celebrities is way down, and many abuses are coming to light via lawsuits. Hopefully they will lose their tax exempt religious status soon, as that would hurt what they value most: $$$$$.
