What are some good alternatives to finding employment?
I just moved to an area where there aren't a lot of jobs (no surprises in this economy). Do you have any suggestions for creative ways to seek employment?

- In today's economy people are not willing to hire, but that does not mean that every business is at a loss. Without knowing your age or location it is hard to give you perfect advice but in general if you are willing to spend some money to start your own business, a franchise is always the best decision during a recession. Decent food for reasonable prices, plus minimum wage workers and a guaranteed supplier can not be beat. A friend of mine owns a burger king, kfc, and soon checkers and he is doing great. You only need a charter from the company and a solid business plan. If you dont have the capital to start your own business there is always the option of working from a home office or pc. Become a day trader online or branch out and search farther for a job. If you can find a job that pays well and commute the 40-50 miles a day. Overtime is where all the money is these days in hourly rate pay. If worse comes to worse you can always go back to school, seeing as how the economy is terrible. Hopefully when its all over there will be more jobs to go around lol.
