Is an online degree looked "down upon"?

so, i work 2 jobs and i really DO NOT HAVE TIME. to go to school. im 20, and i want to get a degree in SOMETHING. i do not know what yet. i am thinking about getting a degree in human resources :) online. this way, i wont be stuck doing ONE THING. i already have a degree in medical assisting, but i hated it and i dont want to waste more time doing something, that wont benefit me in the future. ill get my degree when im almost 22, but will employers look down on an online degree? i am thinking about getting it through us career institute. thanks!

  1. If you don't have time to go to school, do you have time to study? You'd be best to find out how the organisation issuing the degree is regarded in your future employment field - how sad to spend all the money and then be laughed at when they read your resume. A degree from a reputable university gained online will be indistinguishable from one gained by face to face attendance. Be careful, also not to assume that an associate degree will have the same status as a real degree .. which is not what you have.
  2. I don't think it is looked down on at all. But... if you think online classes are gonna save you time----no. I already have a degree and went back to school to further my education. I will NEVER EVER EVER NEVER take an online class again. They are really tough. I had a 4.0 until I took an online course and barely passed with a c. Good luck.
