List Only

What if you can't list the person you are renting a room from as a reference during your apartment search?

Because you do not want them to know you are looking and also they may not want you to move. They are always eavesdropping and I have no privacy. I think it is a good idea to find a place, before I give them my notice.

  1. As long as you have the income and the credit score to rent on your own, you don't need to include this person as a reference. You could say (if you are young) that this is your first place on your own. Which, in a way, it would be, because you were only renting a room before, not an apt.
  2. I don't blame you. Find a new place and then move into it asap. You can give 30 day notice anytime you want. So long as you pay your bill at the old apartment your fine. You don't have to continue living out your 30 days there. I had a nosey friend that told me, I couldnt move out until the 30 days was up.. I was like STFU! I can do anything I want and as long as I pay my way here for my time. The nosey people, will ask where your moving too and all sorts of questions. I can't stand these types
