Is it best to use an apartment locator or find one on your own?

1. try to find a house for a lease purchase or a RE firm to find an apt.
2. I used online sites like rent.com or apartmentfinder.com to research different places, but I actually did the legwork on my own -- I went and toured several apartment complexes and then applied when I found one I wanted.
3. There are many free web sites with apartment listings. Check them out first to see if there is something you like.
