Where would be a good place to hang a massage therapy flier?

My friend is a massage therapist and in order to get her business out there, we made fliers. Now, we cannot seem to think of places to hang them. We put some up at local nursing homes, bc lets face it, we cna's need our massages. I put some up at apartment complexes.... and one at a gym. Now we cant think of any other places to hang them. Any Suggestions?

  1. i would imagine that health food stores and grocerie stores like trader joes and whole foods would also br good
  2. High income areas. The people who are most likely to pay for a massage are people who have the money. I work in the natural health industry and have some experience with marketing, so heed this advice! Search your area for high-end salons, high-end bakeries & cafes, high-end cheese & wine shops, and anywhere where there's a complex of upscale dept stores and shopping. Good luck! The flier will most likely earn you the most $$$ if it appears upscale and like it was designed by a mature and experienced person.
  3. Hanging up fliers are really a waste of time. You aren't targeting a market. You aren't targeting your ideal massage client. It is like looking for a needle in a haystack. There are much more effective things to do like create a website that gets found when people are searching for 'massage, your city', network with doctors, other health care providers, psychologists, and get everyone you know and their friends and family the info.
  4. Nursing homes and dentists offices are good. Also go to a cosmetics store like Origins in you nearest mall and offer to do free chair massage on their customers, don't forget to set out a tip jar. Hand out business cards and fliers. Try to book some appointments while you're there. If you're doing out call massage be careful of weirdos.
  5. Health food stores, Chiropractic offices, hair salons, gyms are all great. But offer the give the employees at these businesses massages at a reduced price. They are such a good source for referrals. Look for health fairs. A lot of companies put on health fairs for their employees. Offer free 5-10 minute massages and you will be the most popular booth. This is a great way to drum up business. Offer coupons on your fliers as incentives. Something else that also works great is going door-to-door with businesses and selling packages, for instance, three massages for the price of one. This is another good business builder. Good luck.
  6. I am just starting out my massage business and are working alongside a Naturapath we are offering 2 for 1 deals so people can bring and friend and go halves or try the two different therapies for themselves, I have also had a few clients that have asked if they can have the 2 massages for themselves because they want to become regulars. I'll tell you we must be doing something right because I have never been so busy!!! this week is my third week and have have been booked full, I am already booked full for next week!! and i have already had return clients and friends of clients who have been recommend to see me. And other thing is to go to groups and do presentations, example, I went along to a Fibromialga group and have had a lot of response from that!! Good Luck!!!
  7. Best would be at gyms, doctors offices, at food stores where they have boards at to post things at, or one place where it is good is at where your community leaders meet. Put them up anywhere. But tell her that the best way to spread your business is word of mouth. I will be honest right now that she might have to put up specials to get everyones attention. With the economy like it is now.. she might want to lower her prices. Thats just something I thought you might want to know.
