I am moving to Austin to attend UT.?
What areas of town should I concentrate my apt search. I can spent $600 or less. I am on a limited budget...any suggestion of a apartment locator service?...maybe a blog run by students...

- 1. Here is a map of Austin apartments. http://everythingaustinapartments.com/ It is color coded by rent so you can shop around by price pretty easily. 2. If you can't find anything there you can try Craigslist. Search for places in North Campus, West Campus, Hyde Park, and Far West. I'll talk about them a little more. 3. North and West Campus are very college-y. If you want to be close to campus this is where you want to be. Start looking as soon as you can. Many places that cater to students will pre-lease places now. It will be difficult to find something nice here in your price range unless you get a roommate. 4. Hyde Park is also close to campus but is more often home to professors and graduate students. It will also be difficult to find something nice here in your price range without a roommate. Here is so more info and specific apartments. http://www.squidoo.com/hydepark 5. Far West is further away from campus so you can find some cheaper places. What is nice is that the UT shuttle makes trips o he area. So you can get to class without a car. If you have a car it can just be a little cheaper area to live. 6. Apartment locators are helpful if you have bad credit or some other unique situation. If you end up using one make sure you don't pay them any money. They get there money from the apartments. Good Luck
