which is worse of the following:?

I was listening to the radio and the deejay was interviewing a comic that had recently comeout and the man had been married so he asked if his wife took it better since it wasn't another woman, and he responded that at first she was happy but then she was still not happy. Do you think being dumped for someone that is the same sex as your mate makes it easier? or being dumped for someone the same sex as you?

  1. I agree that someone who is the same sex as your mate is easier. Then you know that it isn't entirely you...but something that they couldn't help.
  2. being dumped for someone of the different sex would be easier
  3. This question has a very interesting dimension. Lets call straight men and lesbians gynophiles (lovers of women) and gay men and straight women androphile (lovers of men) When a person presents as bisexual, gynophiles ALWAYS assume the person actually prefers women while androphiles ALWAYS assume the person prefers men. So a wife who finds out her spouse is bisexual ASSUMES he is gay and leaves him, while a "lover" who finds out HIS spouse is bisexual ASSUMES he is really gay and stays WITH HIM. A man who finds out his wife is bisexual thinks he can't compete while a lesbian who finds out her lover is bisexual thinks "why wouldn't she prefer me?" It's a really funny conundrum, the upshot of which is that most gays and lesbians do not think bisexuality even exists! Most heterosexuals think gay sexuality is stronger because THEY are attracted to the opposite sex more so why wouldn't their partner be also? What a strange and convoluted world sexuality is.
  4. Yes being dumped for the same sex is easier. I have often thought of that. I'm not sure why...but I suppose it's because...it really isn't his fault. It's not that he doesn't love me anymore, he probably still would, it's just that he's gay. He really can't help that. But if it's another girl he is leaving me for, then I start thinking was I not doing something right? Is she hotter? Better personality? Yeah =)
  5. it would be harder being dumped for somebody of the different sex
  6. I would be upset either way. However, if I was dumped for a woman, I would live the rest of my life thinking it was because I wasn't good enough. If I was dumped for a man, I would be more at ease because you don't choose to be gay and nobody can turn you gay so I wouldn't think it was my fault and I would know that it was nothing I did.
  7. Are you any less lonely either way?
  8. I think cheating is cheating - regardless of the sex.
