Western Career College for Veterinary Technicians?
I was wondering if anyone has attended Western Career College, and how their experience went in the Veterinary Technician program. I plan on attending there in August, and would love any info or pics or ANYTHING. thanks.

- Waste of time. My husband did that and ended up sending everything back. You can get a job as a vet tech without paying anyone tuition. He did, without a certificate or any experience. But if you want to be a registered vet tech they you would need to, but they only top out at $14 per hour (that is the TOP salary). Best is just ot get a job as a tech in an emergency clinic , that way you would see a vast amount of cases. being a vet is where it is at
- Well it depends on which campus you're planning on going to. It is best to attend a school that is AVMA accredited. Currently, only the San Leandro campus and citrus heights campus has full-accredidation. If that's where you're planning to go then you should be fine. The San Jose, Pleasant Hill and Sacramento campuses are on provisional accredidation. This means that the program is fairly new and not enough students have graduated to fully evaluate the program. This isn't necessarily a bad thing though, it just means the school is new. The stockton campus is on probational accredidation. This means that the school was fully accredidted at one point and for whatever reason no longer meets the accredidation standard. This school might be on it's way to losing it's accredidation. If you graduate while the school is still in probational accredidation you're considered a graduate of an AVMA accredited school. However, if the school loses accredidation while you are still in the program then you might have a problem
- I was about to ask the same question today... I went there (San Jose) yesterday to see what is about... I'm planing to attend the VT program as well... I'm a little skeptical because they are new... trying to do some research online as well... Good luck
