Why is it when I apply for jobs through Career Builder or Monster, I always get temp agencies calling me back?

I don't understand this. I apply for several jobs through these websites, though I get calls back from companies that I didn't even apply for that are temping agencies. I don't want to work temporarly jobs ... I want to work a full time regular job. Ugh!

  1. When you have a Job Profile online. It will rest on a Database. Recruiters will subcribe them as a Potential Employers looking for people that it looking for job. Then They will try to contact them.
  2. CareerBuilder and Monster are overwhelmed with job-seekers. 200 applicants for every position. They were never intended to have such a lopsided equation of supply and demand. Many people are getting contacted by Scammers and Spammers who are posing as major corporations. It wastes a lot of your time and leads nowhere. Now the temp agencies are getting into the act. All you can do is ignore them. You won't get any satisfaction working for a temp agency; especially one that contacted you under fraudulent purposes ( you were not applying for a temp position).
  3. Michael, I found a list of temp work resources that can help. http://www.temporaryjobemploymentagencies.com Good Luck!
