What is the best and quickest way to sell nicer furniture for a cross-country relocation to San Diego?
I'm aware of the CraigsList route. However, the furniture that my Husband and I need to sell is either very new, or in excellent condition and within a few years old. My experience with CL, is that its a great way to sell quickly, but you're basically getting nothing for it. Any suggestions to get a fair dollar amount but still sell the pieces quickly would be greatly appreciated as we only have a month and a half to sell, sell, sell!!!

- The problem is, is that once things are used they depreciate in value very quickly. You may be expecting to get more money for your furniture then it is really worth. Things are only worth what people are willing to pay for them.
- Selling quickly and trying to get top dollar do not equate. You may have paid a lot for the furniture, but you should not expect to get more than ten or twenty cents on the dollar. If it's really valuable, you might consider putting it into a consignment shop. You'd want to have an agreement with them that they can continue to lower the price until it sells; otherwise you would be responsible for storage.
- Craigs List should still work - it is free to post, plus shoppers save on shipping, delivery, etc. You still need to offer like a 25-30% savings though, or it won't move. My hubby and I always check Craigs List - we don't want cheap, we just don't want inflated retail prices or shipping costs. You should keep it though.
