Do Employment agencies actually able to find you the job ?

Hello I'm currently in need of a job. Some people refer me to an emloyment agency such as Appleone or Adecco. I don't have any experience in these type of agencies, so for those pp that have knowledge, here are some of my question: 1: Are they some kind of middle man between you and the employer ? And are actually work (as in finding you the job) ? 2: Do you have to pay them the fee to look for a job opening for you ?

  1. You should never have to pay a fee to an employment agency. You go in, fill out some paperwork, maybe interview with a few people there, and go on your way. Now they have you in their system. Here is why you don't pay them though. The agency is not working for you it is working for the employer. The employer pays them to find good candidates to fill their positions. If they find you are a good candidate they will send you to work the position temporarily. They employer then pays the agency who in turn pay you. What you want to do is find temp to permanent positions. These positions will allow you to be hired on full time if you do good work. Good luck. I am registered with several agencies, but the market sucks and I hardly ever get calls. I hope you have better luck.
  2. An employment agency will screen you to determine your skill-set before agreeing to take you on - they want to be sure they can find you a job. Potential employers contact them when they are looking to fill a vacancy. The agency will determine if you are a good fit and, if so, send you for an interview. If you are hired, the employer pays the agency a percentage of your wages. For example, if they offer you a position paying $15 per hour, they will also pay the agency $5 per hour (for a total cost to them of $20/hour) for a period of about 3 - 6 months.
  3. The (2) agencies you mentioned do not collect fees from the applicant. In fact, NEVER work for any agency who charges you money. Never pay for a job. Staffing agencies will evaluate your computer skills and your professionalism and appearance. So, if you have computer skills, like word and excel, make an appt, dress well, take the tests and ask for junior assignments to build up your resume and experience level. Once you are sent on a temp assignment and prove yourself to the agency, they will find you bigger and better things.
  4. 1 - There not worth your time 2 - Just wait for the right job opening 3 - I am speaking upon experience
