What work from home jobs are legit?

I am currently on medical leave from my job. It's not a high paying job, I'm part-time and make $8.75/hr. I really love being home with my daughter, but I hate not contributing something to the family income. I have been looking at work from home jobs. I am just so confused though, which ones are for real? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  1. There are NO work-at-home JOBS ONLY if YOU invent the business and YOU fund it and YOU work it and YOU take ALL of the risk involved in running your own business. otherwise forget it!
  2. Dear Angela, I am stay at home dad for about five years now and even though I enjoy to be with my little baby girl, it's not easy to find really great work from home. It is always the best thing to start some business of some sort. That could require some investment if you want to open some brick and mortar business. Or you can start learning how to make money using your computer, phone and internet. In any case, you need to do your own research, because many people will promise you great income for exchange of your money and at the end it might be scam of some sort. Here is some tips that should help you to sort out the bad from the great ones: First you need to become clear about how do you become succesful making money from home. Many people think about working from home, being the boss, deciding when and how they want to work. But statistics show us that only 10% actually succeed and earn what they need to live and much more. So how do you become a part of this 10% and what do you have to do to get there? Amazingly there is not a magic trick or impossible obstacles in the way to make the statistic such a low one. The key to getting there is a very simple word, "motivation". Many people who decide to try and make money from home find themselves always putting off the work that has to be done because there is no one there to tell them it has to be done or give them a deadline to complete the work. So they give up, thinking it does't work or saying " it's all just another scam ". Very quickly they join the 90% who do not succeed. You do not have to fall into this category. If you have a dream follow it, keep it alive, give yourself a reason to stay motivated and you will succeed. When you take the plunge and decide it is time to change your life and take control, don't be afraid of what lies ahead. Set yourself some simple steps and stick to them, keep yourself motivated at all times. First of all research the different ways available to you to earn money from your own home. Some of these include selling and marketing your own product, being an affiliate and marketing other companies products, creating websites, pay per click etc. There are many, many different ways you just have to find the one that is right for you. If this all confuses you, find a mentor (they can also be found online), who will guide you through step by step. The work really is simple as long as you put the effort in and as I keep repeating, keep yourself motivated. Three simple steps to help you along are as follows: 1. Once you have found the way that suits you to work from home, set yourself a goal. Don't be unrealistic. Start with something simple like what you would like to have four weeks from now. An amount of money you would like to earn, or an object you would like to buy, a place you would like to visit. This way you have something to work towards. Thinking for a few minutes a day about your goal helps to keep your motivation and your passion to succeed alive. 2. Once your goal or target has been decided upon, set yourself deadlines. Plan each week, day by day. How many hours a day you would like to work. What you want to get done and achieve each day. Make sure you stick to what you have planned. We all know that sometimes life gets in the way, especially when we are working from home. If and when this happens, just make sure you fit it in and get it done before the end of your week so your deadline is met all the same. 3. Enjoy what you do. Make your work hours fun, there is no one to tell you what to do now or how you should work. Crank that music up or have your favourite programme on while you work. If you have a laptop on those beautiful days, sit yourself out in the garden and enjoy the pleasures nature gives us. Whatever makes you happier do it, it is your choice now. Once you have completed your daily tasks do something you enjoy. Go to the gym or for a walk, go to the cinema, again whatever makes you happy. Just enjoy life and the ability to control what you do. Remember goals change, don't give up or get upset if you don't meet your targets straight away. Motivation brings success. It isn't about the destination, it is the journey that counts. If you keep up that motivation and put in your efforts with passion you can succeed. Keep those dreams alive. Having a mentor to guide you along or having a friend who also wants to make a change to life to work alongside you is a positive way as you can keep each other motivated. I know I have repeated this over and over. But to make it into the top 10% and be successful you have to be motivated and have a passion for what you do. Make your wildest dreams your passion. Nothing is impossible. Hope it helps to kick off your journey to start working from home fulltime. Good luck, Brett
