  1. I am actually moving there next week, so I don't know a lot about the town. But, going off of what I have been told, it appears that the northern parts of Seattle are the best. I found a decently priced apartment in Westlake.
  2. north admiral in west seattle is one of the safest-if not the safest-area. west seattle itself can be close to sketchier places, but, being the biggest neighborhood in seattle, you have to go 20 minutes from where i live to even be in a slightly questionable area. north admiral is above alki beach, 7 minutes from downtown seattle, has beautiful views of either the skyline or the forest-green islands, depending on where you are. it's a really family friendly place where stolen cars seem to be the biggest crime. people are super friendly and there is a lot of culture and shopping, dining, etc. the juction is approx. 3 blocks of boutiques, eateries, delis, furniture, music, and special-interest stores. there are lots of private schools in north admiral and thus lots of safety. there are also lots of areas to exercise that are safe to do so even in the dark (i.e at 10 pm, people are still walking dogs or by themselves, but don't think they're "bad". by 12, you'll see NO ONE). north admiral also has a few swanky bars and a good music nightlife. plus, the admiral theater is located here, where tickets are only $5. and, living ABOVE alki, you still get the snow in the winter, not as much wind from the water, and lots of beautiful houses (from super modern to 19th century admiral mansions.) essentially, north admiral in west seattle is a community. check out the west seattle blog online for more into/a better look into this neighborhood.
  3. Well, close to Seattle, Burien or Normandy Park.
