- yes, get out and start walking the streets. No, not like that! Get out and network with the businesses in your area. They may not have a help wanted sign out, but they may know someone who does. The search engine is your feet. When you walk into a place you think you would like to work, go straight to the top and ask for a job. If they aren't hiring, ask them if they know who is. It doesn't matter if its fast food or big time corp type jobs your looking for. A search engine on the internet will give you the obvious jobs that everyone wants. Shaking hands with the owner or manger of a business gives you an instant heads up on what might be out there. If you happen to interview in that same place, the familiarity with the employer will pay off.
- Craigslist is good as well. I agree with others, you need to network as well, and use agencies.
