I applied at walmart,target and costco and was wondering...?

I completed an employment application for Target, Walmart and Costco online on Tuesday evening. I havent heard from anyone yet and wondering how long does it take to usually get a call for an interview if they are interested in my application? And if they dont call me within a certain number of days am i supposed to call them? Thanks

1. Those companies receive thousands of on line applications each day. They only look at them when they have an actual job opening. Take the initiative and call the HR Manager at the store or go in and see him/her.
2. Usually, some takes about a week or around 3 days after closing date for the company's to screen their job's applicants. I would suggest making a courtesy call to the respective company's HR department after 5 working days (after application's closed) to check on the outcome of your job applications. By calling, you impress on them your interest in the job applications and regardless whether you are successful or not, you will at least know your chances and also learnt an experience. Do not hesitate and please call with confidence. Good luck.
3. Forget about finding a job right now in today's recession, Unless you have a new Target or massive store coming to your neighborhood with mass hiring it's not going to happen. Think about making money for yourself instead by starting your own small business. It may sound like a long process that won't pay off now but beleive in time your will start seeing your frofits if you stick with it. There are people who still make money in the real world, you just have to find your niche.
