What are they looking for during a section 8 housing inspection?
My 1st yearly section 8 housing inspection is next month... what are they looking for?
Public Comments
- They are making sure the home you are living in is being maintained properly by the owners. Safety issues, smoke alarms, bugs, etc.
- Is the property safe? Is maintenance up to date? Are you keeping it in orderly condition?
- Things that need to be repaired and the general condition of the place. What you yourself might live in and find enjoyment Sec. 8 might find unacceptable. Good Luck.
- If any repairs need to be done and if everything works well. Furnace, stove and all the burners work, heating works, that you have smoke detectors. This is just a few of the things. You can get a list from the section 8 housing department as to what they will be looking for. Also if the place is clean and in good condition, and that only who you have listed on your housing list are the people living there. Best Wishes.
- mainly the condition of house compared to when you first moved in. looking for any damage, if house is actually in decent condition to live in. (not a slum) all appliances work, screens on windows, fans in bathrooms w/o windows, hand rails on stairs
