Can a rental apartment complex put commercial rug in our apartment?
We live in an apartment complex and we will be moving into another apartment but in the same complex, but the other apartment has their rug in bad shape so the leasing office is going to put commercial rug in the apartment. Can they do that? Isn't commercial for business and etc. Not for apartments? Can they do that?

- First of all, they can do whatever they want. Second of all, an apartment IS commercial use, you are renting it, so that IS a business technically (they make money from you paying rent. That's a business). commercial rugs are used because they stand up to wear and tear better. I mean, you don't own it, you aren't gonna treat it too nice.
- Of course they can do that. They own the place. A lot of commercial carpeting looks really good. It's just made of stronger fibers, or woven tighter, and usually has a low nap. If you have a Lowe's or Home Depot near you go in and take a look at some of the samples.
- Yes they can. It's the most cost effective carpet and cleans better. The cost of carpeting and labor is high these days. Only high priced/rentals do they install more esthetic carpet.
- They can put in whatever they want for carpetting. Commercial grade lasts longer, being more durable.
- Of course - I put commercial grade carpet in all my rental properties, and I have it in my own home. It's easy to keep clean and lasts forever!
- Yes they can use commercial grade carpet. Be glad your getting new.
- They can put any kind of carpet they see fit in the apartment. When you own your own place, you can put the kind of carpet you like in your place.
