What companies refrain from employment background checks?

I have a lot of gaps in my employment history and have only been able to land seasonal and temp jobs. Its been a year since my last steady job and I need to make a living. Are there any non factory jobs that don't check your employment history?

1. Anyone worth their salt will check employment history. You have to ask yourself, and tell your employer as well, truthfully, what has changed in your life and why this time you will act differently and be committed to what you do.
