U.S. Career Institute Pharmacy Technician, is it real?

I am already experienced as a pharmacy technician. I've worked for CVS last year (uncertified) and I also volunteered at pharmacies in hospitals. I am looking to get my certification and go through formal training by enrolling in school. Is US Career Institute a right place for my education training? Its all about the state exam anyways, but I want to be learning at home with a legit school. Who has been though this same program and what do you think?

  1. Hi there I work for U.S. Career Institute. I know you want to hear from our grads or current students, but I don't see answers from any of them, so I thought I'd drop you a line. My wife is a pharmacist and a former Pharm Tech and was asked to review this course for our school to ensure the curriculum met the right needs for the certification exam and to work as a Pharm Tech. After reviewing it she felt it was the best course she had ever seen out there and if someone took this course they would pass the test with ease and would be a great Pharm Tech. This was encouraging to me as I hear nightly about how bad her techs are in her Pharmacy and how crazy it makes her. Not being in the Pharmacy field I can vouch that the exam was written specifically to help someone pass the CPhT exam. I hope this was helpful . If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me directly at loteboy16@yahoo.com Best of luck Please do NOT vote for this answer as best answer.
  2. Your experience is more valuable than formal education. You could probably take and pass the exam now. I recommend you buy a review book and self study. You should check if CVS will give you a bonus for being certified. Almost none of the pharm tech "schools" are reputable. Most of them are rackets.
