If you don't know the exact dates of prior employment when filling out a job application, what should you do?
I am filling out a job application for Walmart online and on the Employment History part, it asks for start date and end date of a prior job. Well, the job I'm putting down was in 2005, and I don't remember the exact dates I was hired and fired. And I can't call to ask because I left on some not very good terms. Will I be in trouble if I put down incorrect dates? They won't let you leave it blank.

- Make your best guess. It will be OK.
- Normally no company spends any time ti recheck your start and end dates. If you do not know think hard and put down your best guess start and end date. Keep it to the start of the month (for start date) and end of the month for end date (but make sure that they are not Saturdays or Sundays in either case) You will not get in trouble for doing that. I hired tons of people and never rechecked anyone's start and end dates.
