Has anyone ever used craigslist to advertise something?

I recently put a car and a digital camera up on craigslist seattle washington and immediatly got a response back from a young woman who said she would foward me a money order that she was in a different state and could not pick up the merchandise but one of her "agents" would. I recently heard of a money order scam on the news and read about almost the exact same thing on craigslist complaints, had anyone else got a respose back like this trying to sell anything online?

  1. There are scams everywhere. It does not matter where you advertise your products. You just have to be careful at all time. I advertise on Craigsslist almost everyday because I sell natural health products. I also sold my old car on Craigslist one year ago. I had a lot of phone calls, but not a single problem. As a matter of fact, people worried about me as much as I worried about them. It was very strange that you got such a quick offer, but it is not impossible. You just have to verify the money order. Make sure it is legitimate before releasing the product.
  2. If they trust the agent enough to pick up the item, then they should be trusting the agent enough to give the $cash$ when picking up the item. hhmmmpphhhhh sounds like rotten apples to me Best Regards Karla K- in Georgia
