Will someone tell me if this career plan will work?

I'm 15 and live in england. I plan to get sponsored into the merchant navy by p&o cruises, so I won't have to pay for university. Then I work at p&o and see the world and get life experience and stuff. Then after about eight years I'll join the police. A I now have my degree from the merchant navy, this means i should be able to move through the police quicker so that I can be a detective. Can anyone see any faults in this?

4. Very impressive but I see a flaw - you are assuming it will all go according to plan. Events beyond your control can mess up your plan: You may not get sponsored by P&O, or might get the degree but may not get into the police, or you may get into the police but may not make detective. Sometimes life does not work out the way we plan it so it's good to have a back up plan.
