How do I apply for low income housing in Chicago? or Section 8?

I am a recent college graduate looking for a place to stay but with my current income I can not afford these high rental prices in Chicago. I understand that there is a program that offers assistance in reducing rates to fit to the individual's income. I need help on where can I apply and any other details that may be important.

1. The Sec. 8 waiting list in Chicago is over three years long. Don't bother at this time, since priority is given to those with children.
