Are there any 100% FREE programs to receive govt. money?
I have searched for government grant programs and there is always a catch...you have to pay to receive any information or application packages. Then, there is a MONTHLY or YEARLY access fee to research or apply for these programs. I am a full-time single mother and full-time student. I need money ( besides the Pell Grant I receive) to pay for housing, bills, ect. Any suggestions??

- Not for individuals. The ONLY free federal grants are for college financial aid. The other "free" programs that apply to your situation are Section 8 housing assistance and Welfare.
- No, there are not (other than educational grants). Those websites charging money are scams.
- You've fallen for those ads you see on television, that make it seem like there are government programs that provide grants for all sorts of routine personal expenses. The reality is that there aren't any. If you're a student (which I assume you are if you're receiving a Pell Grant), the place to seek information on assistance is at your college's financial assistance office. Basically all colleges have such an office. There might be a scholarship or loan program available to help you out. And if there truly is a government program that will help you, they'll know about it and will help you apply.
- umm... if you tried searching for 'government grants' in google the first thing you would get is http://www.grants.gov - which is quite free. anyway, look into TANF and food stamps. what you're talking about isn't the kind of thing that grants are for.
- There are grants available to start a business or for college. None for personal need. http://www.grants.gov/
- there's nothing besides the Pell grant you are already getting.
- Contrary to what those websites want you to believe, there are no such things as "Personal Grants" to pay bills, pay debt or for just about anything else.
