how do I apply for section 8 housing assistance?

I am looking everywhere and can not find out how to apply for section 8 housing assistance in st.johns county florida. Also does anybody know the average wait time? Me and my husband have 3 children one with epilepsy. My husband doesn't work very often and when he does he doesn't make much money. He has had a very difficult time finding work. He has been to 3 agencies and none of them have had any work for him.

1. You need to visit your local Department of Social/Family Services or your local Housing Dept. The wait list runs between 3-6 years.
2. You apply at the housing authority, but both and your husband will need to work, you will not qualify if you do not each work at least 30 hours a week, unless you are disabled (not your child). Here is their phone number (386)329-0132
