what prices are not included in the apartment rent?

Im looking to buy my first apartment and extremely confused about the electric, water, ect. bills, is that included in rent? Or how do you know how much its all going to cost? Thanks!

1. Varies. Most places do not include utilities, though some do. Electricity and gas are almost always excluded (not included). Water is often included.
2. Usually the rent does not cover anything beyond water, and not even that in some cases. Sometimes you can get basic cable tv included but usually only in higher end (expensive) apts. You'd be responsible for- electric phone cable tv in most cases sometimes gas The cost depends where you live and if you have air conditioning and a washer dryer, dishwasher and other appliances that use alot of power.
