How can you get rid of large items in Los Angeles?

Grandma has a bedroom dresser, a solid wood bed with mattress, 2 carpets and a sofa that she no longer wants and they are taking space from her home. She tried to contact Good Will but they no longer pick items. Any ideas on how to get rid of all this? She doesn't have the time to sell them via craigslist or garage sales. She lives in Los Angeles.

1. I don't believe ANY of the goodwill type places pick up anymore (at least they don't here in AZ). Pay a mexican to put them in the car and drive them to goodwill or just put them on the curb. Some mexican will come over and take the stuff! Free is good. You know Craigslist DOES have a FREE section, right? List it there and say "you come pick up, it's on the curb."
2. or advertise the items on freecycle: post the item, people will contact you to pick them up.
